Dhunaghat Forest Rest House

Dhunaghat FRH is situated on the Devidhura-Champawat road 23km from Champawat. It is about a km off the main road into the forest, at an altitude of 1700m in the Sarju river valley. Reetha Sahib Gurudwara a famous Sikh shrine is 30kms away. The temple of Devidhura is 25km and is famous for the Bagwal fair on Raksha Bandhan day. It also finds mention in Jim Corbett's story of Temple Tiger in which he could not kill the man eater and named it temple tiger. Though he says that it provided him with one of the most interesting shikar experiences he ever had. Close by the FRH at Devidhura was burnt down in 1947 by freedom fighters.
