Sheetalkhet FRH built in 1873, is on the main Ramnagar-Ranikhet road, 40km from Ranikhet Drives to Almora, 35km and Kausani 45km are pleasant. Short walks can be taken to Dhamas, 4km away and to Shyahi Devi temple where a grand fair is organized during Navratri. Just 2km below Sheetlakhet is Khoont, the ancestral village of Bharat Ratna Pandit GB Pant.
